Producer prices in Portugal experienced a year-on-year decline of 2.8% in October 2025, marking the tenth consecutive month of decreases. This follows a 3.7% drop recorded in September. Notably, October's reduction was the most modest since April, suggesting a slight easing in the downward trend for consumer goods, which declined by 2.7% compared to a 3.1% decrease previously. This trend was especially evident in nondurable goods, which saw a smaller drop of 3.6% compared to the previous 4.2% decline. The decreases in intermediate goods and energy were also less pronounced, at 4.4% down from 4.6%, and 3% from a steep 6.8%, respectively. On the other hand, the pace of price increases for durable goods slowed slightly to 1.9% from 2.1%, and for investment goods, it rose to 2.1% from 1.9%. Meanwhile, on a month-to-month basis, the Producer Price Index (PPI) rose by 0.3%, marking the strongest growth since June, after a 0.4% fall in September.
